volunteers needed at chinese information and advice centre (CIAC)

Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC), a legal and social welfare charity for Chinese disadvantaged migrants, is seeking fluent/native English-speaking volunteers for its Language Exchange Programme.
ciaLanguage Exchange Programme is designed to assist mandarin native speakers, particularly those who have refugee status, to gain their confidence and improve their ability to communicate in English, to help them to begin their first steps on the long road of integration into the UK.

Volunteers will help with the design of individual learning plans, and provide English tutoring to Chinese refugees. Successful applicants should have good communication skills in English with a flexible teaching approach.

It is also our plan to benefit volunteers with fantastic Chinese culture and language learning experience in Greater London.

We expect volunteers to spend 1-6 hours or more per week, depending on agreed schedule for volunteer and learner. Travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed.

If you would like to know more about this programme or request an application form, please contact Ruby Yang at ciacfieldworker@gmail.com. She can also be reached at 020 74624979.
